I'm sitting inside the cafe right now. I asked for a cafe breve, which is a shot of espresso with steamed half and half. The "barista" then went to the espresso maker and made it with a quarter of the amount of coffee as it should have had. Then after he made that weak espresso, he poured it in a cup and then poured water in it and handed it to me! I asked him for the steamed half and half like I asked, and then he told me they didn't have any half and half. So then I asked for a regular cappuccino. He did the same nonsense with the espresso and gave me unsteamed milk in a watery espresso. I literally wasted $4.11 on a drink I just had to throw away.
Went in to have breakfast on a weekend and the two employees were outside in the back seated at a table. I waited a while at the counter inside and finally someone came in. I ordered a latte and an omelet plate. The latte was pretty good but the omelet was flat and no toast was served which was what I ordered by the picture on the menu. The barista complained the whole time about not sleeping the night before and wanted to go sleep in his truck. Both employees were very slow and almost like dazed. I expected more energy and quality food for the price I paid. Will not go back. Don't know what happened to this landmark restaurant but something needs to happen fast to be able to attract patrons. So sad to think visitors to our area will stop by to see it as they are still listed as a place to see when in our area.
Nice decor. Can't really say much else good about it. The service was slow, and the food disappointing. I had a "ranch burger with onion tanglers" and potato salad, and my partner had a ham + cheese omelet and soup. It took them 30 minutes to make hers and 45 to make mine. Hers was brought out first, and she was done eating before mine was out. I had to ask for it to go, because we wanted to get back on the road. The eggs were okay, but the soup was lukewarm. My burger was disappointing -- like a school lunch burger, and there were no onion tanglers (or any other sort of onions) on it. The potato salad was okay though.
It was empty when we walked in, yet every single table was dirty. The menus were dirty and the bathroom had fecal matter on the toilet. The health department review gave it a 91...obviously the inspector was being generous.
I won't be back. Ever. Ever ever ever.
We walked in the cafe. With no batista behind the counter. We weren't greeted. We took a look at the menu and I ordered a simple iced latte with coconut flavor. My boyfriend ordered a caramel latte. This older woman came by we told her what we wanted. And she gave us our drinks with ONLY MILK. We told her it came with espresso and she looked at us confused and said "oh I can add some if you'd like?" We said yes.... we paid $8.32 for milk and weak espresso. NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN.
Terrible. Ordered a BLT and it came out with no lettuce. When I asked for it they said they ran out. Ok? So walking out to my table to see if this was a problem wasn't an idea? The toast was cold, and stale, the bacon cold, burnt and old and just yuck. The potato salad was obviously store bought.
