This place has high prices that compares to that of larger cities and in some cases much higher. $2 for the most generic water you could ever come across at 16 ounces.
Overall, I may come back to see how a second experience compares to the first and because it's the only hookah lounge in Etown, but I highly recommend that management reevaluates their staff and operational procedures to prevent loss of business and improve their public image.
Don't Waste Your Time OR Money at this place.
If I could leave this place 0 Stars, I would. This establishment is a joke of a Hookah Lounge and you'd be better off just driving to Louisville and/or Bowling Green, KY.
Love this place. Its so layed back, relaxing, and you can meet some of the coolest ppl there.
SUCH A CHILL PLACE AND THE EMPLOYEE IS THE BEST AT WHAT HE DOES... I THINK HE DESERVES A RAISE AND 1 FREE HOOKAH... IT'S HARD TO COME BY EMPLOYEES THAT ARE LOYAL AND ACTUALLY DO THEIR JOB!!!!!!
I tend to be more strict in my ratings of places and debated between 2 or 3 stars, but settled on 3 due to their potential and my extensive experience in the hookah industry causes me to be a bit more critical.
To start with the positives, the lounge itself is tucked back in a shopping area cafe style with both indoor and outdoor seating which allows for a more mellow atmosphere. From my observations, they made great use of public space with wall seating semi-traditional style, had multiple emplotlyees present, and were accommodating of a request for a table. They didn't charge me for extra coals which is always nice, provided tongs upon request, and allowed me to manage my own heat.
The issue that I had was the fact that they ran out of tips, which is a staple in the hookah community. When I asked for a tip "after" I paid I was told that they didn't have any, which i feel should've been brought to my attention before paying. When I brought this to the Owner's attention via the Square App, he had the worst response attacking me personally and professionally as a customer. This establishment is a joke and THE AREA where they pack the HOOKAH IS BEYOND DISGUSTING....
I wouldn't go to this place again if it was the last establishment on earth. Not to mention, they don't clean the hoses with anything other than Soap and Water....
EDIT: I have since been back to this establish multiple times since my review and have found that the individuals who had caused the poor experience below are no longer working here. Their new employee is FANTASTIC! He knows his stuff, is friendly and personable, and is very attentive to customer needs/requests. I would recommend this establishment to hookah veterans and novices alike. To the owner and employees, keep up the great work!
The owner of this place Ahmad Aburob has the best hookahs when I made them but they still aight I guess
The negatives to my experience were disappointing to say the least. The prices were somewhat higher than anticipated rivaling on larger city establishment pricing, but I get that demand may be lower in this area and it's necessary to stay afloat. The big problems started upon arrival where I had no idea who worked there or where I should go to order as the staff were seated in chairs at the front of the store while the desk is in the back. This is confusing to new customers and I recommend staff shirts or having someone at the counter for direction. After figuring out who the employee was, I found that the employee I was talking to had very limited shisha/hookah knowledge. I also found the menu somewhat basic for more experienced shisha connoisseurs. After having my hookah for a while, my coals became nonexistent before fresh coals were delivered. This should not happen and the staff who should be changing them were back at the front playing on their phones. I also noticed that hookahs were not being collected after multiple clients left which caused the lounge to look unprofessionally cluttered. The worst part of the experience was when the customers had either left or moved to the front patio area, the staff at the front began to discuss a lady on FB that they wanted to have relations with, realized that she was in a relationship, and began discussing how she was cheating on her boyfriend with one of the staff having the conversation. I get that people can have whatever conversations they want and this is an adult establishment, but conversations like this shouldn't happen in the front of house with customers present as these employees represent the business when working.
